About

Coalbiter is the future home of things amazing and astounding and other words that begin with, and grade out as, “A.” But for now it is the home of the Appalachian Artist Collective, a group of human people dedicated to promotion of the good, the true, and the beautiful in artistic expression in Appalachia (music, books, film, painting, and the ever popular etcetera). It also exists to support those artists who are doing that kind of thing—hopefully with a smile.
“I don’t deny that there should be priests to remind men that they will one day die. I only say it is necessary to have another kind of priest, called a poet, to remind men that they are not dead yet.”
G.K. Chesterton
“Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it.”
C. S. Lewis
“Construction is the best way to rebel against the established rebellion.”
